Dear Reader, 

Welcome to the first ever volume of Fully Automated! It has been an incredible amount of work to get here, both on the part of our editing team and for our wonderful writers who took a chance and submitted their work to us. We cannot thank all of our writers enough for trusting us with their creations, we hope that you enjoy them as thoroughly as we did.

We, the editors of Fully Automated, see amazing potential in the genre of sci-fi, and believe that that potential is limitless. Sci-fi allows audiences to explore the boundary spaces—between past and future, human and non-human, Earth and extraterrestrial all while breaking down those boundaries. Throughout our journey to create this volume, we were committed to allowing authors a space to explore issues of identity, culture, and social justice in their works. Now, it’s your turn. We hope that you find as much beauty in it as we did.
